The project was presented by Taylor Kurosaki (studio’s narrative director) and Jacob Minkoff (head of story mode gameplay development). The game has been in production for 2.5 years and is called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This is a rethinking of the famous series, and not a remake of the last part. According to the creators, they were going to return to their beloved heroes, without continuing the story that ended in MW3. All events of the game take place in the present day.

This time the studio showed more ambition. Her goal was to reach a completely new level of production and expansive involvement in the storyline. Already now the level of the general atmosphere looks darker and gloomier than before. The game will be presented in two storylines – for two completely different heroes. The first character serves under the leadership of Captain Price, he is literally loaded with the most modern equipment and weapons, and in difficult situations he is able to call for reinforcements from the air. The second character works with the rebels and fights for freedom with the help of homemade weapons, Molotov cocktails and makeshift equipment. There is no non-linearity in the game, but both campaigns will intersect. The creators focus on sudden turns – especially in the second half of the storyline.

The studio abandoned black and white colors, replacing them with a mass of gray shades. Officially, the developers promise the presence of a general from the West, a terrorist from the Middle East and a general from the Russian Federation who is on the run. They will be key antagonists, but each of these heroes is a deeply motivated person, guided by good goals. The writers assure that when you look at their actions from a different perspective, you can see that they are not villains. The plot of the game was conceived in such a way that gamers could choose the side with whom they sympathize more. In addition, all opponents and allies in the story will be represented by all nationalities. The developers are trying to convey to the players the idea that there are no bad nationalities, only bad people.

Interesting story
Infinity Ward has set itself the goal of making a more serious and darker story, characterized by a high level of realism. Inspired by modern books and films of the military genre. To achieve maximum effect, the developers abandoned the old combination of stuntmen and recorded studio voice acting. For this reason, in Modern Warfare 2019, each storyline was filmed and voiced directly in the motion recording pavilion with professional actors animating and voicing the characters at the same time.

The play between shadow and light, the density of details, the use of new materials, the realism of faces and animations are truly impressive.
